HSFC - Registered Charity
As the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp is a registered charity, there are many opportunities for corporations to get involved and support us. There are an endless amount of projects that the camp is aiming to complete in order to progress its image as a professional, educational, environmental and recreational place for people to come and stay.
You can be a sponsor of the camp by funding the purchase of new equipment, renovations of existing buildings or contributing towards/funding the build of a new camp facility. All sponsors must be giving on behalf of a company.
Please contact our Volunteer & Fundraising Coordinator, Shalane Hopkins, for more information on how you can get involved.
Thanks to one of New Zealand's favored outdoor gear companies, Macpac has outfitted the camp staff with some of their fabulous soft-shell jackets! Not only do our staff look awesome, but we're now able to fend off the alpine conditions of Hanmer Springs without 50 layers of sub-quality clothing.
Our most recent project was the rebuild of the Ablutions Block. Now complete with underfloor heating, solar panels, a state-of-the-art ecoboiler there is no question that the communal toilet/shower facilities have been upgraded. With the help of sponsorship from Nova Energy and Courtney Architects, we were able to see the new building be completed for October 30, 2011.
As well, thanks to Pub Charity, the Hanmer Springs Forest Camp has been provided with a brand new wood storage shed. This allows the camp to store wood for the wood burned (heats all the water for the Ablutions Block) for up to two years, allowing the wood to dry out properly and enable a more effecient burn time.
