Hanmer Springs Forest Camp offers a wide range of accommodation to suit all types of visitors. Choose from family or bunk rooms, double and twin cabins, a fully accessible Lodge, and a large campground. We have four self-catering kitchen and lounge spaces, perfect for group stays, school camps, or family getaways.

Our 24 cabins are a mix of family and 4-share options, thoughtfully arranged around a welcoming grassy courtyard. Family cabins include one double bed and 1 or 2 bunk beds, while the 4-share cabins feature two sets of single bunk beds. It’s a great setup for school camps, family holidays, and group getaways. Each cabin includes a wall and/or roof-mounted heater to keep guests warm and comfortable during the colder months.
Please note that linen is not included but can be hired for $15 per bed.

Matariki Self-Contained Unit-This is a great option for self-contained motel-style accommodation and is attached to the Abilities Lodge. Designed with accessibility in mind, this lodge offers a comfortable mix of double, single, and bunk-style beds. Guests can enjoy a fully equipped kitchen and dining area complete with cookware, utensils, crockery, cutlery, fridges, and freezers.
The lodge also features a cosy lounge with a log burner, separate men’s and women’s bathrooms with showers, plus a private outdoor patio area with picnic benches—perfect for relaxing and socialising.
*The lodge has a total of 28 beds, including both single and double beds. If double beds are shared, the lodge can accommodate up to 32 guests. The maximum capacity is 28 guests if doubles are being used as singles.

Our Double Forestry Huts are lovingly restored remnants of the original single men’s camp, offering affordable and cozy accommodations. Each hut comes equipped with lighting, power, a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, bedding and towels, and a heater to keep you comfortable. Perfect for a budget-friendly stay in nature!

Once part of the original single men’s camp, these huts have been carefully restored to provide simple twin-share budget accommodation. Each hut includes two single beds, heating, lighting, and power.

The perfect spot for a family getaway, school camp, or campervan stay. Set in a beautiful location amidst the forest, our spacious campsite offers a relaxing atmosphere and excellent facilities for all to enjoy. Campers have the ability to use communal kitchens and bathrooms, as well as access to free WiFi in common spaces.
We have a variety of camping sites that vary in size, with most sites able to accommodate between 2 and 4 people, while still giving you space to stretch out. If you have a larger group wishing to camp with us, please feel free to contact us so we can find the perfect spot for you.
