Hanmer Springs is a great year round destination for everyone! Whether you want to relax in the thermal pools, slide down the giant water slides, ski the Hanmer ski-field in winter, go bungy jumping, jet-boating or quad-biking, tramp to Mt Isobel, ride the numerous mountain biking trails straight out of the Forest campgrounds, or shop in our beautiful boutique shops we have it all!

Hanmer Springs Thermal Pools

Featuring 22 pools with their own unique offerings, from tranquil adult-only pools to child friendly freshwater pools and play areas. An incredible selection of geothermally heated pools ranging from a comfortable 32°C , right up to a rejuvenating 42°C.

This is the best place to act like a kid, with an activity pool, lap pool, lazy river and epic water slides (including the largest aquatic thrill ride in NZ). If you’re needing to fuel up, there is an on-site Tea Kiosk Cafe & Grill famous for its wood fired pizzas.

Whether you’re an adventure seeker, a nature lover, or a family looking for a fun day out, Hanmer Springs Adventure Centre has something for everyone.

The Hanmer Springs Adventure Centre is a premier destination for adventure activities and outdoor equipment in Hanmer Springs!

There is a lot on offer – from hiring mountain bikes, exploring the village together on Rockets, trying out clay shooting and archery, to quad biking, rafting, bungy jumping or jet boating through the Waiau River canyon.

Hanmer Springs Animal Park

Hanmer Springs Animal Park is 10-15 minutes walk from the village of Hanmer Springs. With 2 hectares of purpose-built farm park you can relax and wander freely among our friendly animals in a clean and peaceful setting.

All year round fun, entertainment and activities, Hanmer Springs Animal Park has a wide variety of friendly and interesting animals to hand feed. There is also a small onsite cafe or you can bring your own picnic. Relax with your food and give the kids time to enjoy trampolines, playground and large sandpit. It’s a fabulous outing for animal lovers of all ages.

Hanmer Springs Ski Area

Hanmer Springs Ski Area is a friendly, fun ski area just 17km from the Hanmer Springs village.

There are a variety of groomed runs and off piste to choose from for all ages and stages of skill. Slopes can be viewed from the lounge in the Day Lodge and the beginner’s area is right beside it with excellent open terrain for kids. The ski area is ideal for the family or group of friends for a weekend away.

There’s cosy mountain accommodation – backpacker style and self catering.

Alpine Crazy Putt

Alpine Crazy Putt is situated right within the village. A 18 hole mini putting course for the whole family to enjoy.

Alpine Crazy Putt also offers six seater Limos and three seater sport four wheel bikes for hire – great for family’s to travel around Hanmer Springs.
